We’ve had a wonderful time this week. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves as there was so much to do for them. The daily egg collection and the swimming pool were their favourites. We particularly appreciated the welcome hamper and all of the little touches that made the house so special. We hope to return one day and will definitely be recommending it to our friends and family.

Thank you both for another fantastic stay. We feel truly relaxed and don’t want to go home! The boys had loved the pool with Bertie taking full advantage this year and Freddie was happy to discover the bike in the toy barn. Mummy has been enjoying the wine this year thanks that nine week old bump last year being a 5 month old Hattie this year!! We’ve really enjoyed our two evenings out – great locations and food so thank you for the recommendations. And of course the boys were thrilled to have Penny babysit, thanks Steve for the lift. The boys loved feeding the chickens and were delighted to find eggs everyday which were delicious.

The girls adored the pool particularly and the sandpit was also an enormous hit and as for the toy selection -wow!! You couldn’t want for anything!! Thank you so much for letting us stay in your fabulous house. The kids and parents have all had a wonderful stay. Toys, trampoline, pool, climbing frame and all the space to run around in is fabulous. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area – always looking forward to returning for a dip in the pool. Your advice and help in organising activities was greatly appreciated. The free babysitting evening was greatly appreciated – a wonderful touch.

You have thought of everything that we could possibly need ….
This was our first trip abroad with Lucas (18 months) and we had such a wonderful time and were even able to get some much needed relaxation. This was in large part due to the fact that you have thought of everything that we could possibly need to entertain Lucas and keep him safe and happy. The pool was a big hit particularly all the toy balls and the hammock was very well used too. Thank you also for your help ordering pizza to give us a night off cooking.

Making our stay so easy with a toddler ….
Thank you for being wonderful hosts – it was fabulous to go out for dinner and celebrate my mum’s birthday in style. Steve’s taxi was very much appreciated. William (21 months) loved the trampoline and was a big fan of the dolls house, it was the first time he’d seen one. Thank you for thinking of everything and making our stay so easy with a toddler. We will be back!

The children were so happy and occupied ….
We had a lovely time at Penny’s Place, not least because the children were so happy and occupied with all sorts of things, but because we really got to relax and kick back. Unfortunately we had terrible weather, a freak occurrence apparently and really bad luck. However we enjoyed visits to the castle, chocolate factory and museum in neighbouring towns and of course eating out at local eateries! Penny and Steve were so kind to us and made us feel so at home. Looking forward to visiting again when the sun shines!

The perfect holiday for us!
From the eldest to the youngest there was so much for everyone to enjoy – the garden, the sandpit, the pool, the fruit trees, the toy car & bikes, the footballs, the dolls house, ‘Rosie’s Farm’ book, the ‘Tooth Fairy’ book .. the list is endless …. And of course the obligatory trip to the local doctor!! Thanks for organising that & our other trips. And of course Penny thank you for taking care of our babies while we enjoyed a meal or two out!

Such a well entertained little one we have simply loved every minute….
Thank you so much for making us feel very much at home, all the little touches were very much appreciated. Hugo loved all the toys and we had such a lovely time, it really made it easy for us all to have such a well entertained little one we have simply loved every minute.
Hugo (20 months) was beside himself with happiness here. Lunch at Chez Stephs in La Rochefoucauld was lovely, and the Pinot Noir from Saint Sornin winery is delicious. Loved our first visit to the Charente, hopefully not the last.

There is something for everyone to enjoy here – it’s perfect!!
Nana loved the flowers and dog, cats and chickens, also the lovely country walks. Seeing the young ones cycle for bread in the mornings was a treat too. Pops loved the shade and found a good book to read – also enjoyed the wine!! We have had a lovely time and hope to return very soon. With sad hearts we leave this lovely house.

It’s a little bit of rural heaven….
A perfect fortnight – fantastic weather and idyllic surroundings, so peaceful, it’s a little bit of rural heaven. We have all thoroughly enjoyed our time here no one wants to go home, The kids have loved the freedom to climb, swing, build sandcastles, laze in the hammock, swim, cycle, play footy and all the other endless things to do here at La Ferme.
We’ve enjoyed many days out too… our favourites were canoeing at Montbron, pony trekking, Angouleme and Cognac. Lunch at La Scala in Cognac was fantastic, and the kids loved it – would highly recommend. Nice view of the river and really fun interior!
Dinner at La Grange aux Oises was amazing, really good value for money and a beautiful setting. Thanks so much of being such fabulous hosts.

We have finally found the perfect holiday….
Thank you so much, we have finally found the perfect holiday. Your beautiful house, the garden and of course the pool have made our stay here just wonderful. We feel like we really have had a proper holiday for the first time in six years. A and S are exhausted from all the swimming and have decided that “this is their best holiday ever”. Thank you for being so welcoming and kind, we also thoroughly enjoyed our evening under the trees, good company and far too much wine. We are very excited already about returning next year.

Thank you Penny & Steve for looking after us so well on our visit to your home… we’ve enjoyed it all despite wet and chilly days and have appreciated the fires set by Steve every evening for us.
We’ve eaten well (at La Bonnieure in Chasseneuil) and dressed up at La Rochefoucauld castle! When the sun did shine we’ve played with nearly all the toys in the garden!!!

On our second trip ….
On our second trip here it was wonderful to walk through the door & see the lovely farmhouse we remembered so fondly again. Whilst the weather wasn’t as good as our first stay, the house was better than we recalled.
Thank you to our very welcoming hosts on making sure this really is a home from home. We love the peace and have already talked about extra things we can do and places we can visit next time when the children are just a little older.

An enormous thank you for such a wonderful week. You have a beautiful farmhouse here – a real delight to live in for this week. We all appreciated the little touches you’ve made in order to make this a home from home. The children loved all the books & toys & it was a real break for us having such a library of books and DVDs to choose from.
We particularly enjoyed the glorious beaches although they are quite far away – but worth it. The lakes proved extremely popular with the kids. They also enjoyed the Chateau at La Rochefoucauld & the dressing up room – a great idea for the kids (+adults!). ….

Since I visited with my own troupe this summer I have realised that the reason families love this place (and amazingly have been coming here for 5 years on the trot) is simply because Penny herself is such a gem!
Not only is she an NNEB qualified nanny and will sweep your children off “Mary Poppins style” to play happily in the sandpit whilst you snooze on the sofa under the trees (utter bliss! BTW make sure you see the pic of where you could be napping!) but she will also babysit so you can go and enjoy a relaxed day out or perhaps an evening, just the two of you. Hooray! Happy children and happy, relaxed parents.
Penny is such a gem! She is there when you need her and not if you do not so somehow, magically, you have here the chance to relax and enjoy quality family time whilst feeling discretely looked after and supported.

Thank you for a lovely stay! We felt it was a real home from home especially for the two girls who were kept busy by the fab collection of toys. Travelling away from home with little ones is often challenging but Pennys Place is perfectly kitted out in every way. The girls loved being looked after by Penny and we got some much needed respite. Penny and Steve are the perfect hosts : organising everything for us including some great restaurants. We will be back and will send friends too – a great find!
